Chad Everette Lawson Cooper is more than just a name in the world of entertainment—he’s a passionate artist, storyteller, and family man. As an American actor, director, screenwriter, playwright, producer, and songwriter, Cooper has made a significant mark on the stage. Along with his talented wife, he co-created the impactful national stage play “Churchmess,” which has reached audiences in over 100 cities across the United States. His work has resonated so deeply that his productions have grossed over $30 million, a testament to his dedication and creativity. Along with executively producing several movies and Starring in his own TV Show Hanging with Mr. Cooper “The Reality Show”. that airs on the LVN network.
A proud alumnus of Florida A&M University, where he studied philosophy and religion, Cooper now calls Brooklyn home. He runs his creative hub, The Chad Cooper Company on Broadway right on Broadway in Manhattan, where the heartbeat of theater pulses.​ On a personal note, Cooper’s has been happily married to the talented actress Alicia Robinson Cooper for 29 wonderful years. Together, they are the proud parents of three beautiful children. Family is at the core of Chad’s life, inspiring much of his work.

His latest production, “Justice on Trial,” was born from a place of deep reflection and urgency, sparked by the tragic murder of Philando Castile by a police officer in Minnesota. This powerful play explores the complex issues of justice and reparations, featuring the poignant narratives of two civil rights attorneys who take on the U.S. Justice Department. The production brings history to life with time-traveling witnesses like Harriet Tubman, Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois, and Emmett Till, culminating in a gripping jury deliberation that reveals profound truths about our past and present.​ Cooper’s commitment to storytelling not only entertains but also challenges audiences to engage with critical social issues, making his work both relevant and necessary in today’s world.
